The Dolphins lost Lamar Miller this free agency period to the Texans and have been scrabbling to fill his spot. They attempted to grab CJ Anderson but had no luck there. The Broncos matched the RFA offer sheet and he is staying put in Denver.
Plan C for the Dolphins comes in the form of Chris Johnson. Johnson played with the Cardinals last season and was efficient enough. He racked up 814 yards in 11 games there making demand for him fairly high despite the fracture to his tibia that ended his season in week 12.
It’s a totally different offseason for Johnson this year. Prior to the Cardinals he sat around far longer than he will this year due to his subpar performance with the Jets. However, he showed that with a solid o-line he can perform. Now the Dolphins will be lucky to land Johnson as he has said he would prefer to stay with the Cardinals. Its expected that he will sign with a team as early as next week.
Meaning that if the Dolphins can’t win him over they’re back on the streets.
